“I Don’t Know” – Ego’s First Line of Defense
There is little functional use of the phrase “I don’t know” other than avoidance.
When you speak the words “I don’t know” in response to an inquiry, you abdicate your power to create.
Instead, be willing to stay with the inquiry.
If you catch yourself speaking it, simply extend the phrase:
“I don’t know…but deep down really I do know.”
And then wait.
Hang out in the space of not knowing.
When something starts to bubble up, speak it.
Speak it as a knowing.
This is how you create the idea that you do know
When you do this, the feeling of not knowing will become the gateway to new understanding.
Loving you, JP❤️
